Two UPNVJ Lecturers Bring Home Championship Titles from Russia

Enviro News Asia, Yekaterinburg — Amid the early winter chill of Yekaterinburg, two lecturers from the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) returned home with the warmest news for their campus. At the Hi-Tech BRICS Skill Competition 2025, held on 10–14 November, Dr. Damora Rhakasywi and Dr. Didit Widiyanto achieved remarkable success, placing UPNVJ firmly on the map of international technology competitions.

Dr. Damora, a lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering, delivered an outstanding performance in the Manufacturing Appreciation category. His precision in engineering, innovative manufacturing process design, and accurate production analysis propelled him ahead of his competitors. He ultimately secured 1st Place, surpassing participants from BRICS countries and other invited nations known for their strength in manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Meanwhile, in a different arena, Dr. Didit Widiyanto from the Faculty of Computer Science impressed the judges with his skill in assembling components, integrating control systems, and optimizing drone performance—earning him 3rd Place in the Drone Assembling category. This competition is known for its highly technical and demanding nature, requiring both steady hands and advanced analytical capability.

Their dual achievements caught many participants and judges by surprise—not because they were underdogs, but because their performance exceeded the expectations typically placed on delegates from Southeast Asia.

UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Anter Venus, described these accomplishments as a strong signal of the university’s new direction.
“This aligns with our vision to develop outstanding human resources capable of competing on the global stage. We are proud, and we will continue strengthening our support for high-achieving lecturers and students,” he stated.

UPNVJ’s participation in this event was not its first, but this double victory marks an important milestone. As BRICS nations increasingly showcase their future-forward technological capabilities, UPNVJ demonstrated that Indonesia is not present merely as an observer.

These achievements are expected to motivate other members of the academic community to step onto the international stage—and bring home the next stories of success. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
