UPNVJ Opens Four New Facilities, Transforming the Limo Campus into a Living Laboratory

Enviro News Asia, Depok — On the morning of Friday, 21 November 2025, the UPN Veteran Jakarta campus in Limo, Depok, appeared livelier than usual. Under calm weather, several community leaders stood in line as UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Anter Venus, inaugurated four new facilities envisioned as the backbone of the Healthy Campus Movement. A pharmacy, daycare, gymnasium and fitness center, and hydrotherapy facility—all opened in one sweep, reflecting the university’s fast-paced ambition.

These facilities are more than just buildings; they represent a new direction. At the Bela Negara Pharmacy, students of Pharmacy and the Pharmacist Profession Program now have a “living practice space”—a place where classroom theory meets real-world pharmaceutical service challenges. Organized displays and modern pharmacy services are prepared not only for the academic community but also for local residents who have begun to visit.

Meanwhile, the Bela Negara Daycare stands as a haven for working parents on campus. With a lactation room, play area, and 24-hour CCTV, the service is designed in alignment with the national curriculum standards. Professional educators, nutritionists, and in-house health workers are directly involved, making the infant classes at this daycare quickly favored by UPNVJ’s young parents.

The sound of strength machines and the scent of rubber from free weights fill the Gymnasium and Fitness Center, now the new home for campus fitness enthusiasts. Certified instructors and physiotherapists are on standby, serving not only students but also athletes—including members of the Indonesian National Hockey Team. The university calls it an “evidence-based sports science laboratory”—and by the looks of it, the claim is far from exaggerated.

However, the spotlight of the day fell on a facility rarely found on any Indonesian campus: the Hydrotherapy Center equipped with an international-standard heated pool. Certified physiotherapists manage sessions ranging from musculoskeletal to neurological therapy. Several elderly users, according to internal reports, experienced improved mobility within just four to six sessions. “This is a campus facility, but its benefits clearly reach across all age groups,” said one attendee.

Prof. Anter Venus described the inauguration as a strategic step to strengthen UPNVJ’s identity as a State Defense Campus that is “excellent, adaptive, and humanistic.” The mission is not only to enhance learning and working quality within the university but also to expand high-quality public services.

With the four facilities now fully operational, the Limo Campus is not merely expanding its physical footprint. It is shaping a new rhythm—where health, education, and public service converge in a dynamic, living environment. (www.upnvj.ac.id)
