Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), through its Faculty of Computer Science (FIK), has launched a new innovation in digitalization: the Digital Library. The inauguration was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, on Monday, February 17, 2025.
The Digital Library will be housed in Building I of the Faculty of Computer Science. The inauguration was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, industry partners, and the academic community of FIK UPNVJ.
On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Prof. Supriyanto, highlighted a key feature that sets this Digital Library apart from conventional ones. FIK has introduced a new tool called DigiLib, designed to help users easily find the data they need. DigiLib is a desktop-based service that provides access to digital collections.
“We have prepared a collection of 7,000 digital books, which will continue to grow, and can be downloaded for free by lecturers and students. Additionally, we have developed the DigiLib tool to make it easier for visitors to search for anything they need for research and other academic purposes,” explained Prof. Supriyanto.
To express gratitude for the successful implementation of this innovation, the UPNVJ Rector also performed a traditional “tumpeng” rice-cutting ceremony to mark the official launch of the Digital Library, which will be accessible to students and lecturers within UPNVJ.
In addition to the Digital Library inauguration, FIK also hosted a student innovation exhibition in the Faculty building’s hallways.
The exhibition featured ten student innovations, ranging from website developments to multifunctional robotics. All the showcased innovations offer various practical applications that can be utilized by a wide audience.
