Minister of Forestry Inaugurates Aviary Park Indonesia

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni officially inaugurated a conservation center, Aviary Park Indonesia, located in East Ciputat, South Tangerang City, on Monday, February 24, 2025.

“We highly appreciate this initiative, especially considering that this site was previously an illegal waste dumping ground. Thanks to Jaya Real Property’s efforts, it has been transformed into a wildlife conservation center,” said Raja Juli Antoni in Tangerang. The bird park, which has been under construction since 2020, spans an area of 5.9 hectares.

The mini zoo tourism concept features five ecosystems: Desert, Savanna, Lake, Rainforest, and Swamp.

President Director of PT Aviary Jaya Lestari, Michael Sumampau, stated that Aviary Park Indonesia is a unique location as it is situated in the middle of the city, functioning as an urban green lung.

To date, 10,000 trees have been planted, and the park houses 500 species of wildlife, including birds, butterflies, and arthropods. Aviary Park Indonesia has also successfully bred protected species such as the Bali myna, as well as beautiful butterflies like Troides helena, Papilio peranthus, Cethosea penthesilea, and the Attacus atlas moth, commonly known as the atlas moth.
