Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The APP Group, in collaboration with Sinar Mas, supported the Ramadan Bazaar organized at the Ministry of Forestry by providing 4,000 liters of cooking oil at a subsidized price and endowing 500 copies of the Quran for employees and surrounding communities.
The event took place at Manggala Wanabakti Building, Jakarta, and drew strong participation from the extended family of the Kementerian Kehutanan. The bazaar forms part of the ministry’s Ramadan activities aimed at supporting employees and the public through affordable essential goods and religious initiatives.
Chairwoman of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan Kementerian Kehutanan, Nurlaili Raja Juli Antoni, expressed appreciation for the company’s contribution. She stated that the provision of affordable cooking oil significantly benefits ministry employees, particularly those working at Manggala Wanabakti. She also conveyed hope for continued collaboration in future programs that generate broader social impact.
Nurlaili further welcomed the donation of Quran copies, noting that the printed editions offer good quality, are lightweight despite their large size, and are convenient for daily reading and use.
APP Group Director Agus Wahyudi emphasized that the company’s participation reflects its sustained commitment to supporting social initiatives with tangible community impact. He stated that the provision of affordable cooking oil and Quran endowments demonstrates how private sector and government collaboration can deliver lasting social benefits.
The Quran endowment program constitutes part of APP Group’s long-term initiative to expand public access to quality Quran copies across Indonesia. Since 2008, the company has distributed more than 1.4 million copies to various regions, including remote areas, educational institutions, and religious communities.
Meanwhile, Sinar Mas has implemented its affordable cooking oil bazaar program since 2005, distributing more than 30 million liters of packaged cooking oil nationwide to assist communities in meeting basic needs. (*)
