Enviro News Asia, Central Kalimantan — Forestry Minister Raja Antoni has revoked the business permits of five companies in West, South and Central Kalimantan as part of law enforcement measures related to forest and land fires.
The permit revocations were announced in Central Kalimantan on September 21, 2026. The five companies operate in areas managed under the Forestry Ministry and were cited by the ministry in connection with violations related to forest and land fire management.
“The President has ordered impartial law enforcement, applying the law not only to small actors but also to those at higher levels,” Raja Antoni said.
The companies affected are PT Wana Lestari Jaya in Sanggau and Sekadau, West Kalimantan, with a concession covering approximately 29,140 hectares; PT Prima Multi Buana in Banjar, South Kalimantan, covering 11,882 hectares; PT Pancaran Wana Nusa in Lamandau, Central Kalimantan, covering 3,812 hectares; PT Grace Putri Perdana in Lamandau, Sukamara and Ketapang, covering 28,990 hectares; and PT Babugus Wahana Lestari in Kapuas, Central Kalimantan, covering 18,640 hectares.
The five concessions have a combined area of 92,464 hectares.
The Forestry Ministry reported burned areas of 47.84 hectares at PT Wana Lestari Jaya, 18.20 hectares at PT Prima Multi Buana, 497 hectares at PT Pancaran Wana Nusa, 374.99 hectares at PT Grace Putri Perdana and 231.10 hectares at PT Babugus Wahana Lestari.
The combined reported burned area reached 1,169.13 hectares.
Raja Antoni said the permit revocations were linked to violations by the companies. Holders of forest utilization business licenses, or PBPH, are required to protect their concession areas and comply with obligations attached to their permits.
“Because they ignored those obligations, the permits of these five companies were revoked today,” Raja Antoni said.
The minister said the enforcement action was also intended to strengthen compliance among other companies operating under the Forestry Ministry. He called on concession holders to prevent burning and avoid allowing forest and land fires to spread or remain unmanaged.
The ministry said the action forms part of broader efforts to strengthen forest and land fire prevention and law enforcement during the current fire season. (*)
