Enviro News Asia, London — President Prabowo Subianto chaired a limited cabinet meeting via video conference on Monday, January 19, 2026, to review progress in the enforcement of national forest areas. The meeting took place while the President was on an official working visit in London.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated in a written release that several members of the Red and White Cabinet participated in the meeting from Jakarta. The participants included the Attorney General, the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, the Minister of Law, the Minister of State Secretariat, and the Head of the Government Internal Auditor (BPKP).
Teddy explained that President Prabowo led the meeting while accompanied by ministers who were also on a working visit in London. These included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
The meeting focused specifically on reviewing the performance and progress of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force. According to Teddy, President Prabowo established the task force in January 2025, two months after his inauguration as President of the Republic of Indonesia, to strengthen control and legal certainty over forest areas.
By leading the strategic meeting from abroad, President Prabowo reaffirmed that forest area enforcement remains a national priority. The move also underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening legal certainty, improving environmental governance, and safeguarding state assets within the forestry sector.
