Enviro News Asia, Ankara — The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced the disbursement of approximately ₺12.8 billion in agricultural support payments to farmers, aimed at boosting production and strengthening the agricultural sector.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı stated that a total of ₺12.81 billion (₺12,813,973,000) will be transferred directly to farmers’ accounts as part of ongoing government support programs.
“We continue to bring seeds together with soil and support together with labor to increase production. The ₺12.8 billion agricultural support payment is being transferred to our farmers’ accounts. May it be beneficial and abundant,” Yumaklı said in an official statement.
The payments consist primarily of ₺12.77 billion allocated under the Planned Production Support program, while ₺42.34 million is designated for Rural Development Investment Support.
According to the ministry, payments for farmers whose identification numbers (TCKN/VKN) end in 6 and 8 began being credited to accounts after 18:00 local time on April 17, 2026.
The financial assistance is expected to enhance agricultural productivity, support rural development, and ensure stability in Türkiye’s food supply chain. (*)
