Enviro News Asia, Yogyakarta — The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Gadjah Mada held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Environment on March 16, 2026, to enhance collaboration in sustainable mangrove ecosystem management.

The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening scientific approaches and data-driven policies in addressing environmental challenges.
The partnership reflects a joint commitment between academia and the government to respond to increasingly complex environmental issues, including coastal ecosystem degradation and climate change. As an academic institution, UGM is expected to contribute through research, technological innovation, and human resource development.
Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to improve the effectiveness, adaptability, and data-based management of mangrove ecosystems while delivering ecological, social, and economic benefits to communities. (*)
