Youth Leadership Drives Indonesia’s Sustainability Vision in the Netherlands

Enviro News Asia, Delft — Indonesian students in the Netherlands strengthened their leadership role in sustainability through two thematic panel discussions held in September as part of the Kongres Pelajar Indonesia (KPI) 2025. The annual congress is organized by PPI Belanda, ORIGIN, and PPI Delft, uniting researchers, professionals, and students to advance innovation-driven collaboration.

The first discussion on 6 September 2025, titled “Youth-Driven Environmental Leadership: Mobilizing the Next Generation for Climate Justice and Biodiversity Protection,” brought together notable young leaders. Panelists Fellix Rimba, Reny Ayu Wulandari, and Yoga Fauzan Renardi shared perspectives on environmental literacy, indigenous territorial rights, and creative youth activism. The session highlighted collaborative models such as the Hexahelix approach, participatory mapping, and art-based advocacy for climate awareness.

The second panel on 21 September 2025, “Innovating for Impact: How Entrepreneurship Drives Sustainable Economic Growth in Indonesia,” explored the role of technology and digital transformation in inclusive development. Speakers Lintang Kusuma Pratiwi, Keke Genio, and Dr. Dwi Purnomo emphasized agritech innovation, creative digital business strategies, and system design thinking as practical tools to support sustainable entrepreneurship.

Together, the two sessions underscored the critical role of Indonesian youth in shaping a sustainable future through environmental engagement, technological innovation, and community-centered solutions. The outcomes of these discussions will feed into KPI’s Scientific Conference on 4 October 2025 in Delft and culminate in a Networking Gala on 25 October 2025, where ideas will be translated into future partnerships on sustainability, leadership, and development.
