Five APP Group Business Units Win TOP CSR Awards 2026 For Social and Environmental Commitment

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Five business units under APP Group received recognition at the TOP CSR Awards 2026 organized by TopBusiness Magazine at the Dian Ballroom of Raffles Jakarta, highlighting the company’s efforts to align business sustainability with social contribution, community empowerment, and responsible environmental management.

In this year’s awards, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk earned the TOP CSR Awards 2026 #Star 5 distinction. Meanwhile, four other APP Group business units received the TOP CSR Awards 2026 #Star 4 recognition, namely PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Tangerang Mill, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Perawang Mill, PT Pindo Deli Pulp and Paper Mills, and PT Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry.

Carrying the theme “Aligning CSR and ESG for Long-Term Corporate Value and Sustainable Development,” the awards assessed companies based on the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into business strategy, implementation of ISO 26000 principles, CSR governance, adoption of the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach, and program innovation benefiting stakeholders.

The #Star 5 category represents excellence in CSR systems, policies, and implementation, while #Star 4 recognizes companies with very strong CSR implementation that supports sustainable business growth strategies.

Suhendra Wiriadinata, Director of APP Group, stated that CSR has become an integral part of the company’s efforts to build stronger relationships with surrounding communities and the environment around its operational areas.

“For APP Group, CSR is part of how the company strengthens its relationship with communities and the environment surrounding our operational areas. This award encourages us to continuously improve governance, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that every social and environmental initiative creates more tangible and sustainable benefits,” he said.

According to the company, the CSR programs implemented across its business units are tailored to local characteristics and community needs.

PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk has continued strengthening programs focused on community economic empowerment, local supplier participation within supply chains, and circular economy-based resource management.

In urban areas, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Tangerang Mill has prioritized community empowerment, environmental management, and support for climate-resilient village initiatives.

Meanwhile, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk Perawang Mill has developed programs centered on local economic development, education, environmental management, and partnerships with stakeholders around its operational areas.

PT Pindo Deli Pulp and Paper Mills has also strengthened ESG-based CSR implementation through programs focusing on improving access to education, healthcare, and community economic development using participatory approaches such as social mapping, impact measurement, and regular monitoring and evaluation.

In Jambi, PT Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry continues promoting community empowerment, local economic strengthening, and circular economy initiatives aimed at increasing the value of natural resource utilization.

The awards reflect growing expectations for corporations to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into long-term business strategies while contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic development. (*)
