ITDC Develops Eco-Friendly Tourism in Mandalika

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia, also known as ITDC, has strengthened its commitment to sustainable environmental management in The Mandalika area. One of the concrete efforts undertaken is ensuring that every major event held in The Mandalika includes tree-planting activities. This initiative is part of the program “Journey to Green Tourism Mandalika: Road to 10,000 Trees.” The program aims to accelerate reforestation in the area to create a more comfortable environment for visitors, support climate change adaptation and mitigation, and reduce carbon emissions in The Mandalika region.

This activity is expected to raise awareness among participants and visitors about the importance of preserving nature in this inclusive Super Priority Tourism Destination,” said ITDC Commercial Director Troy Warokka in a press release on Thursday (January 2, 2025). During the international racing event Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia in September 2024, ITDC successfully involved MotoGP riders and made a positive contribution to environmental conservation.

At the Mandiri Festival Mandalika Seru event, ITDC once again invited local NTB communities, including national artists, to participate in environmental preservation efforts.

As part of its corporate strategy, ITDC, together with stakeholders, communities, and collaborative partners, continues to accelerate collective efforts in managing sustainable tourism destinations. These efforts align with environmental, social, and cultural values that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as outlined in Presidential Regulation Number 111 of 2022. “It is hoped that this initiative will inspire various parties to work together to preserve the environment in and around The Mandalika area,” added Troy.
