Enviro News Asia, Jakarta – The Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) has taken a strategic step to harmonize and orchestrate the roles of various stakeholders by establishing Coll-Tapak – a Collaborative Platform for the Development of Hydrometeorological Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation in Forestry at the Site Level.
Coll-Tapak, launched on Monday (August 4, 2025) in Jakarta, serves as a multi-stakeholder communication and coordination platform to enhance synergy among actors, both within the Ministry of Forestry and with external parties, in efforts to mitigate and adapt to hydrometeorological disasters in the forestry sector.
“I believe this initiative aligns with the urgent need to strengthen the forestry sector’s resilience to disasters, while also building a more efficient and adaptive collaborative working system,” said Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry, Mahfudz, in his remarks as delivered in the Ministry’s official press release.
Mahfudz added that Coll-Tapak forms the foundation for strengthening the integration of data, information, programs, collaboration, and coordinated actions among stakeholders.
It also serves to support the development of more targeted recommendations for hydrometeorological disaster mitigation and adaptation efforts at the site level.
“Cross-agency collaboration and cooperation have proven effective in addressing forest and land fires, such as those in Riau,” Mahfudz noted.
The establishment of Coll-Tapak was formalized through the Minister of Forestry Decree No. 415 of 2025 on the Establishment of the Site-Level Collaboration (Coll-Tapak): Collaborative Development of Hydrometeorological Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation in Forestry at the Site Level. The decree stipulates that Coll-Tapak aims to:
Improve the effectiveness of communication and coordination in developing hydrometeorological disaster mitigation and adaptation;
Integrate disaster-related data and information;
Build synergy in mitigation and adaptation programs for forestry-related hydrometeorological disasters; and
Foster inter-party cooperation.
Wening Sri Wulandari, Head of the Center for the Development of Hydrometeorological Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation in Forestry, added that the launch of Coll-Tapak was accompanied by a multi-stakeholder communication session to clearly disseminate information about the initiative.
