UPN Veteran Jakarta Celebrates Its 48th Anniversary with a Series of Events

Enviro News Asia, Jakarta — Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) is set to celebrate its 48th Anniversary on November 30, 2025, featuring a month-long series of activities throughout November. Carrying the theme “UPNVJ Continues to Transform and Make an Impact,” this year’s celebration reflects the journey of the Bela Negara (Defenders of the Nation) university in strengthening academic innovation and its contributions to society.

The theme aligns with UPNVJ’s ongoing transformation amid the dynamics of the digital era. Institutional governance enhancement, research development, digitalization acceleration, and international collaboration expansion are key focuses in building global competitiveness. UPNVJ emphasized that these changes aim to create greater impact on national development and the global academic ecosystem.

The celebration series will begin on November 14 with a Fun Walk at Ragunan Zoo, designed not only as a recreational and fitness activity but also to strengthen the bond among members of the academic community in a relaxed atmosphere.

The festive spirit continues on November 16 with the Bela Negara Festival (Belfest) 2025 at the Kukusan Football Field in Depok. This annual art and cultural festival returns on a larger scale, showcasing student creativity alongside performances from popular musicians such as TULUS, The Adams, For Revenge, HIVI!, Lomba Sihir, Tenxi, and others. The presence of these top artists is expected to attract students and reinforce national pride through artistic expression.

By mid-November, the celebration’s competitive spirit rises with sports tournaments — including a badminton competition on November 17–18 at the Putra Perdana Sports Hall in Cilobak and a futsal tournament on November 24–26 at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus. These activities aim to foster sportsmanship and strengthen relationships among lecturers, students, and staff.

Beyond entertainment and sports, the anniversary also features high-quality academic programs. A Stadium Generale on November 19 will present Commissioner General Dr. Suyudi Ario Seto, Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), who will deliver a lecture on efforts to prevent drug abuse among youth. The session will take place at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, 4th floor of the Rectorate Building.

Adding to the excitement, the Tabola Bale Aerobics Competition on November 21 will combine creativity and fitness in UPNVJ’s signature style. The event, held at the Pondok Labu Campus Parade Ground, will involve various campus units in a lively and energetic atmosphere.

The celebration reaches its highlight on November 28, when UPNVJ holds an Open University Senate Session as the peak event of its 48th Anniversary. The session, hosted at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, will feature a scientific oration by Prof. Stella Christie, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. This moment serves as an opportunity for UPNVJ to reflect on its institutional journey, transformative achievements, and future directions in education, research, and community service.

The entire 48th Anniversary celebration embodies UPNVJ’s identity as a Bela Negara campus. With adaptive and innovative spirit, UPNVJ remains committed to continuing its transformation toward becoming an inclusive, globally competitive university that makes a real impact on the nation’s progress.
